Beth Mosko is a classically trained violinist and has performed with numerous orchestras, quartets, and bands in Northern Colorado, Wyoming and Western Nebraska. While living in Iowa City she studied old-time fiddle with acclaimed fiddler Al Murphy and was hooked on roots music from that point on. Beth performs in San Diego with local bands Second Delivery, Last Transit, the 7th Day Buskers; and also performs with various theatres around the county. When not performing Beth works as a music therapist and teaches private violin lessons.

The topic of this session will be old-time fiddle music, including a brief discussion of the genre itself and some of its common bowing patterns. At least one tune will be taught, and students will also be introduced to basic applied theory.
